We've worked really hard to understand and navigate these new rules as a small business.

We're committed to our EU readers so we're really thrilled to say we'll be complying with the regulations which means we'll still be able to ship our special edition books to the EU ❤️

The change we've had to make is we'll only be able to offer the book-only subscriptions to EU customers as we're unable to ship anything non-paper based.

We really hope this is temporary and the regulations will change to better support small businesses but until then this is the solution we've come up with.

Each month, you'll get a romance book, a themed mocktail to match the mood of the book, and 1-2 bookish goodies (like SFW art, NSFW art, stickers, bookmarks, pins and coasters).

Our books will have something that makes it feel a touch more special, like one (or more) of the following:

We work with incredibly talented artists to bring a truly special edition. Please note, note every edition will have the same features and may be dependent on our author & publisher wishes.

Yes! We know not everyone is comfortable with smut&sip on show. Your subscription will come with an extra carrier bag on the outside so no confessions to your neighbour needed 😉

For full box subbies, each month's box includes a mocktail from a local business.

Why mocktails?

We’re all about inclusivity! And if you're like us, alcohol + reading means barely absorbing the words on the page (but hey, that’s a perfect excuse to re-read 😉). But want to add a splash of your favorite alcohol? Go for it!

The month before each box, we’ll tease the book’s theme, tropes and give you a full reveal.

Your first payment to sign up to our subscription can be any day, just depends when you receive your invitation! From then on, all renewals are the 1st of each month e.g., 1st September for September's box and so on.

Our book only subscription can be sent to most countries.

Our full box subscription can only be sent to addresses within the UK (excluding NI).

Shipping rates will vary by location. We hope that as we grow we can get better shipping rates and pass those savings on to you.

While we strive to keep these rates up-to-date, they may be subject to change based on carrier adjustments or other factors! Final shipping rates will always be calculated at checkout.

Please note that you may be charged customs duties and/or taxes upon arrival, depending where you are. This is the responsibility of the recipient. Unfortunately, we cannot be held liable for any additional fees incurred.

We aim to ship each month's subscription by the end of that month. So for e.g. January's book by the end of January, February's by the end of February and so on. Of course, if there are any delays we'll keep you updated and you can also keep up to date on our Shipping Updates page ❤️

If you're ordering from outside the UK (including the EU), your package may be subject to local VAT or customs fees when it arrive- this depends on the rules in your country. Unfortunately, we cannot control or estimate these fees and they may vary by location. These charges, if any, are the responsibility of the customer.

Yes! You’ll have full control of your subscription through your smut&sip account. You can skip a box or cancel at any time. Our skip policy is listed below.

Please note: To ensure your skip is processed, it must be submitted before your renewal goes through. Skips requested after renewal will not be accepted.

We know not every book will be to everyone's taste (even though we hope you'll love each and every pick, we get it!).

For the time being, we don't limit the number of skips however, we’re a small business and frequent skips can affect our ability to operate smoothly. If you skip a significant number of consecutive boxes (e.g. 5 or more), we may review your subscription and reserve the right to cancel it at our discretion without notice. Please refer to our terms of service for more info.

Due to the nature of our subscription boxes, we’re unable to offer refunds for orders or subscription renewals once they’ve been placed. Here's why:

✨ Each box is carefully curated and custom prepared in advance, meaning that all orders and renewals are final once processed.

✨ For open preorders, we may be able to cancel if requested early enough but this isn’t guaranteed. Please reach out to us as soon as possible if you need help.

We do our best to wrap our books well but because of the nature of shipping, transit can be a bit rough on the books sadly!

Oh hey fellow reader. I’m Nat, the reader who dreamed up smut&sip.
